# 38 Influence

Listen to Influence Others

If you consider yourself a leader or if you want to transform yourself into a leader, you must see yourself as part of a team, a team which will work as being as successful as possible. You might have a pretty good idea of what you want the team members to do. But people will not do what you want them to just because you tell them to do it.  Success comes with your ability to influence people. To get the results you need, you need to listen to them and understand what motivates them, why they take the positions they take, what they want and what they need.

Effective leaders don’t just tell people what to do; they motivate, influence and inspire others to reach their goals. Leaders maximize the use of the knowledge and skills of the members of a group, guide its members toward a shared vision, and create a lasting loyalty towards achieving targeted results.
