And actually, you shouldn’t. Climbing the corporate ladder is not for everyone. There are those who don’t want or need it. And that’s fine. BUT, and it’s a big but, the same opportunities should exist for everyone, especially when we consider women and specific minorities. They should all have the same access to those opportunities to climb that ladder.
HR must encourage those who have the ambition and the abilities and at the same time, provide them with the opportunities to develop the particular skills needed. It is part of our sacred role.
