# 34 Management is Developing People

“The conventional definition of management is getting work done through people, but real management is developing people through work.” Agha Hasan Abedi

When people get what they need and want, you get what you need and want. Take the time and make the effort to find out what your employees really need and want. You’ll develop genuine relationships with them as a result. In developing them, you will develop yourself as a manager and human being and at the same time, you’ll create common fertile ground for increased productivity. Employees who are cared about are more vested in their jobs, care more about what they produce, how they produce it and why they produce it. They make great ambassadors of your brand.
