# 32 Interesting Problems

“Good management is the art of making problems so interesting and their solutions so constructive that everyone wants to get to work and deal with them.”  Paul Hawkin

Management is not police work: checking up on employees to catch them doing something wrong and then getting on their backs. If you have the “right” managers and employees, they should be working together to solve the problems that get in the way of productivity. Actually, the key role of management is to provide the type of environment where employees can do their best work. That means providing all the resources needed and their personal support in how to use them. That means eliminating all the obstacles that make it impossible to solve problems effectively and efficiently. Management is about facilitating quality work.
